Pixelord - Vulvatron

Moscow-based producer Pixelord creates relentless electronic beats with lotsa catchy 8-bit quirks and twisted dub/hip-hop combos spread throughout for good measure. The brand new Puzzles is a short but sweet sonic canvas of glitchy goodness, featuring four original tracks and an additional seven tracks of remixes.

Movits! - Sammy Davis Jr.
Movits! - Na Na Nah! (ft. Timbuktu)
Movits! - Kulturarbetarblues

Quirked-out Swedish swing/hip-hop trio got the Colbert bump in 2009 for their debut album, Appelknyckarjazz, and afterwards the album reached #1 on the iTunes Hip Hop chart in the U.S. and Canada. Since then, the upbeat big-band style dance party has continued with their follow-up, Out Of My Head. Keeping the asses shaking, hips twisting, and proving that a language barrier clearly doesn't matter when it comes to knowing how to party!

* For the locals: Movits! will be performing on Tuesday, May 3rd at New World Brewery in Ybor City

Out Of My Head is available courtesty of Slimstyle Records

The Submarines

The Submarines - Shoelaces
The Submarines - Fire

Songs about relationship-style love and loss and jealousy, as told through deliriously infectious pop music with dueling guy/girl vocals and some clever (and sometimes overly-endearing) lyrics... As a rule, we tend to shy away from husband/wife duo indie-pop, but Love Notes / Letter Bombs was somehow able to win us over after only a single listen. It's an energetic and refreshing full-length, and it's so sugary-sweet and delicious it'll rot your teeth out, for real.

Clams Casino

Clams Casino - Motivation (Lil B)
Clams Casino - Illest Alive (Main Attrakionz)

Been listening to the free Clams Casino mixtape for the past couple of weeks, and man, does it ever creep up on you and get into your head when it's least expected... Especially with its contorted, sample-based loops, and beautiful, hazy, spaced-out instrumentals from the hobbyist producer who's crafted beats for Lil B, Soulja Boy, and more. Get on it.

The Clams Casino Instrumental Mixtape is available in its entirety as a FREE download, courtesy of Clams Casino. Click HERE to get it.

Exile & Free The Robots

Exile - PCP Laced Beedies
Free The Robots - Young & Yet Too Old

Los Angeles 10/10 is the tenth release in the All City Los Angeles series (curated by All City Records, duh), featuring original tracks from So. California heavyweight beatsmiths Exile (who serves up four jams) and Liquid Jesus fave Free The Robots (countering with three). Think experimental, crunchy, sample-riddled madness, with enough infectious ingenuity and weirdo-rific bleeps/bloops to satisfy even the most jaded beat enthusiast.

Young Widows

Young Widows - Future Heart
Young Widows - In And Out Of Lightness

Noise-rock trio Young Widows might be a little bit difficult to swallow for anyone who's accustomed to the usual Liquid Jesus fare - especially with all the hypnotic, meandering build-ups and immense atmospherics strewn throughout the entirety of In And Out Of Youth And Lightness (and that's exactly why we're diggin' it) - but the haunting heaviness of the new album hits all of our sweet spots and does so quite nicely.

* For the locals: Young Widows will be performing on Sunday, May 1st at The Orpheum in Ybor City

In And Out Of Youth And Lightness is available via Temporary Residence Ltd.

Bosco Delrey

Bosco Delrey - Down We Go
Bosco Delrey - 20 Flight Dub
Bosco Delrey - Get Outta Dodge

This is a weird one. Our boy Bosco Delrey blends some unexpected genres together on his upcoming release Everybody Wah. Kind of a Rockabilly, Chillwave, Drum & Bass, Psych-Rock layered summertime treat to go along with an orange soda.

Everybody Wah will be released on April 26th, via Mad Decent

TV On The Radio

Nine Types Of Light is the brand new TV On The Radio album, and if you're a fan then you probably already know what to expect. If not, then what the hell are you waiting for? Look - the entire Liquid Jesus crew has had this thing on heavy rotation since we snagged a copy of it a week or so ago, and yeah - we've all been enjoying the heck out of it, and we think you will as well.

Highly recommended.

The Weeknd

The Weeknd - The Party & The After Party
The Weeknd - Wicked Games
The Weeknd - What You Need

Goddamn, this album is crushing lately! Toronto's The Weeknd makes dirty, slow, dark house/heavily sampled baby-making R&B jams... Think Sade, Ralph Tresvant, R. Kelly, chopped & screwed, and The Dream. Samples include Beach House, Aaliyah, Siouxsie and the Banshees, and more. Hit play and get it in!

House of Balloons is available in its entirety as a FREE download, courtesy of The Weeknd. Click HERE to get it.

Delicate Steve

Delicate Steve - Sugar Splash
Delicate Steve - Wondervisions

Can't really recall another instrumental band that had such an upbeat and happy personality that made you feel a kinship that usually only lyrics provide. Kinda gives me the feeling of playing around as a kid, if I was on the moon and on soma.

Pharoahe Monch

Pharoahe Monch - Clap (One Day) *
Pharoahe Monch - Assassins **

One of the Golden-boys of the Golden-age of hip hop is back with the third solo album in his 20+ years in the rap game. Pharoahe Monch has one of the most unique and identifiable voices of any MC of the last couple of decades, and on W.A.R. that stamp is just as present as his previous albums. Production is a little weaker than we usually prefer, but M-Phazes and others have a couple o' heaters that make this record a must listen - especially for us 30-somethings who were real heads!

* w/ Showtyme and DJ Boogie Blind
** w/ Jean Grae and Royce Da 5'9"
