Onra - The Arrival
Onra - Words Of Encouragement
Onra - Through The Flesh

Onra follows up on the original Chinoiseries collection with this full-length sequel packed full of a ton more short-but-sweet hip hop beat snippets featuring all of those pops and crackles, dusty samples, and loops and bloops that you might expect, plus more.

65daysofstatic - Space Montage
65daysofstatic - Cosmic Wind

This ambitious, fan-funded, sci-fi soundtrack-based full-length by eclectic anything-goes-rockers 65daysofstatic will surely tickle the fancy of anyone who digs like-minded atmospheric acts such as Explosions In The Sky or This Will Destroy You. So yeah, expect lotsa orchestral highs and lows, lulls and crashes, and other almost-otherworldly melodies in this opus-esque collection of tracks.

Generationals - Tell Me Now
Generationals - Greenleaf

Considering how often Generationals show up on Liquid Jesus playlists, I think it's almost a lil' bit criminal that we haven't publicly announced our affection for the New Orleans-based indie-pop duo and their bouncy, sugary-sweet tunes - so we're digging into the digital crates to finally shout out the Actor-Caster full-length (which we somehow forgot to get to the first time around). You might've already hipped yourself to them by now - but, if not - think infectious, '60s-influenced dream-pop with an electronic-tinged finish, complete with obligatory catchy guitar hooks, handclaps, and sweaty, sing-along-style vocals.

Liquid Jesus MixTape 02:05

LIQUID JESUS - MixTape 02:05

Cobbled together, all bleary-eyed, late-night, because-I-can't-ever-get-any-sleep-when-I-want-to-so-fuck-it style - here's another MixTape - and it's just in time for the official Liquid Jesus opening-night/party at our favorite lil' bar/restaurant/coffee-shop, ie: The Bricks of Ybor. Thanksgiving night, duh. Don't miss it. Full tracklist is available after the jump. Enjoy.

Salem - I'm Still In The Night

This last minute, unannounced addendum EP to 2010's King Night full-length is just as creepy and head-scratchingly bizarre as its predecessor, but don't let that stop you from diving into it all face-first like. You'll either fall head over heels for the droning, bass-riddled weirdo-rific-ness, or go completely mad attempting to wrap your lil' head around it.

Doomtree - No Way
Doomtree - The Grand Experiment

I'm pretty sure we've mentioned interest in at least a handful of Doomtree-related projects in the past (HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE, HERE), but after a few days of bumpin' the bouncy, strangely anthemic and fierce-as-fuck No Kings collaboration full-length/manifesto (featuring contributions from the entire Doomtree collective), I think it's safe to finally go public with our very real love affair with these Minneapolis-based hip hop innovators.

No Kings will be released on November 22nd, courtesy of Doomtree

Russian Circles

Russian Circles - Mlàdek

You'll probably never hear us play Russian Circles while we're out and about (except for, maybe, at last week's Melt Banana show), 'cause no matter how much we're diggin' on the visceral progression of crushing chords and booming percussion on the grandiose and soaring Empros, it's pretty impossible to listen to the thing without flailing around and spilling our adult beverages all over ourselves and each other. Yeah, it's that good.

Empros is available via Sargent House

Eyeznpowa - Birds Come Down
Eyeznpowa - Madcity
Eyeznpowa - Avasong
Eyeznpowa - They Found Us

This dude's been killin' us for a while with subject matter that fits comfortably into our sweet spot of drugs, women, sharp tongues, drinking, and general hobo antics. Tampa's own Eyeznpowa is head and shoulders above the majority of the "underground" or "indie" MCs out floating thru the mid-major indie labels... kinda like the Ray Lewis of the rap game.

The DucTape Chronicles is available in its entirety as a FREE download, courtesy of Eyeznpowa. Click HERE to get it.

Blouse - Time Travel
Blouse - Into Black

When it comes down to the new self-titled Blouse full-length, Delach would probably say, "think savory, lo-fi pop tunes that make all of us swoon in a delicious-esque type fashion..." On the other hand, lil' buddy Darrell Darrell has been cultivating a somewhat risqué, almost-adult-style, sexy-time relationship with Blouse that far surpasses any random, budding, big-boy crush, and thus has put it much more succinctly by saying, "this album is legit as fuck." For reals.

Melt Banana: Tonight!

Melt Banana

Tonight! Japanese noise-sters Melt Banana will be, er... melting some faces with their chaotic, eclectic, turn-on-a-dime brand of frenzied apocalyptic-core... and if Delach can somehow get over his skull-crushing, debilitating sinus infection, he just might be there to sling out some equally appropriate (ie: loud as fuck) tunes in between sets... so come on out for a super-dooper noisy evening. You won't regret it. Just don't forget your earplugs.

Teebs - Just The Yellow Bits
Teebs - Cook, Clean, Pay The Rent (New House Version)

Well, lookee here. Brainfeeder beat-maker alum Teebs has tossed together a shimmering miscellany of airy, looped-beat experimental tracks, and appropriately dubbed it Collections 01. Gorgeous and dreamy (and maybe a lil' bit too weird and atmospheric for some of y'all), it's been a real nice late-night listen to chill out to, and it's got rather nice artwork, to boot. Have at it.

Phantogram - Don't Move

Colonic was supposed to do this lil' write-up on the new Phantogram release, but, uh... he didn't, so fuck it - here's the newish Nightlife EP courtesy of the swanky, synthy, electro-pop duo. We were really anticipating this follow-up, especially after fallin' hard for last year's Eyelid Movies full-length, and boy - the only let-down on this one is that it's a too-short, six-track cock-tease of a release that's already leaving us hungry for more.

The Soft Moon

The Soft Moon - Repetition

Following up on The Soft Moon debut full-length, the quickie Total Decay EP delves even deeper into the dark and ominous sonic territories that its predecessor firmly established standards for. This one is yet another bleak (ie: catchy and creeping), nightmarish addendum to a catalogue of sounds already chock full of nihilism, uneasiness, and angst.

Liquid Jesus Returns: Thursdays at The Bricks!

We're gonna try something a little bit different for a while - and what better way to change our game than by teaming up with the world famous Skatepark of Tampa and their very own, soon-to-be world famous bar/restaurant/coffee-shop? Crazy, huh? That's what we thought, too. So make sure to swing by The Bricks of Ybor every Thursday night (starting tonight!) where an a la carte line-up from the Liquid Jesus roster will be tossin' out the drinking songs while sipping half-price martinis and swillin' some whiskey on the side.

AM & Shawn Lee

AM & Shawn Lee - Dark Into Light
AM & Shawn Lee - Somebody Like You

This pot muffin's got me in a daze so... “AM’s easy-going inventiveness makes for a tropical-flavoured smoothie, including pan-Latin rhythms, high pitched soul crooning, psych grooves, filmic atmospheres, and rumbling dub effects” and for more laziness... “inherent feel for unadulterated soul vibes and funk tempos filtered through ’70s soundtracks."
