Ringo Deathstarr

Ringo Deathstarr - Chloe
Ringo Deathstarr - Day Dreamy
Ringo Deathstarr - Imagine Hearts

I think by now we're all well-versed in the shoegaze/post-punk descriptors... Three-piece Austin rockers Ringo Deathstarr have played throughout the U.S., Europe, and Japan with artists such as The Dandy Warhols, A Place To Bury Strangers, Black Angels, ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of The Dead, and The Raveonettes, and have just finished up a European tour with The Wedding Present. RIYL: The Jesus & Mary Chain, Sonic Youth, and Royal Trux.

Hooray For Earth

Hooray For Earth - True Loves
Hooray For Earth - No Love

After the release of the fantastic Momo EP (which we swooned over a bit last summer HERE), the boys in Hooray For Earth have come out of the gate swingin' hard with the follow-up full-length, True Loves, and as we've said before, it's epic, catchy-as-fuck indie-pop with some delicious, darkened '80s influences spread throughout. Don't miss out.

Want more? Check out the video of True Loves, available after the jump.

True Loves will be released on June 7th, courtesy of Dovecote Records

Black Moth Super Rainbow

Black Moth Super Rainbow - The Dark Forest Joggers
Black Moth Super Rainbow - Twin Of Myself (original)

Extra Flavor is the bonus companion disc to the deluxe reissue of the Black Moth Super Rainbow classic, Dandelion Gum (containing outtakes and demo tracks from the recording sessions), and, duh - it's more of the BMSR-style of whimsical, experimental pop, complete with vocoder-induced vocals and psych-tinged melodies.

The deluxe reissue of Dandelion Gum with Extra Flavor is available HERE

Kenna

Kenna - Chains

Kenna is releasing a three EP series (dubbed the Land 2 Air Chronicles) throughout 2011, and Chaos and the Darkness is the first installment. Co-produced by Chad Hugo of the Neptunes, this Ethiopian born, Grammy nominated R&B sensation seems to be heading towards radio mega-stardom.

Land 2 Air Chronicles I: Chaos And The Darkness is available via Godel

Junior Boys

Junior Boys - Itchy Fingers
Junior Boys - ep

The highly anticipated release (and we say that since a whole slew of our otherwise straightforward, bearded, 30-something dude friends are absolutely drooling over it like a buncha lil' fanboys) of the new Junior Boys album, It's All True features fresh, dance-pop/synthy-beat goodness and sexy, silky-smooth vocals as... well, as only the inimitable 'Boys can deliver. It's swoon-worthy and delicious, for real - even for us old guys.

It's All True will be released on June 14th, courtesy of Domino

Justice of the Unicorns

Justice of the Unicorns - Mary Jane
Justice of the Unicorns - Stairway to Hell

Brooklyn by way of Pensacola, FL singer-songerwriter Russell Dungan sings stories about drugs, relationships, and the Devil... digging deep from his humble beginnings in ol' FL. By the way, the album cover artwork is by legendary Sci-Fi & Fantasy artist, Boris Vallejo. In the end, you might as well be stoned.

Animals Will Be Stoned is available via Little Lamb Recordings

Mayer Hawthorne

Mayer Hawthorne - Work To Do *
Mayer Hawthorne - You've Got The Makings Of A Lover **

2009 saw DJ/rapper/crooner Mayer Hawthorne release the deliciously soulful album, A Strange Arrangement, on hip-hop's Stones Throw Records. Now the Ann Arbor native has signed up to major label Universal Republic and will be droppin' his follow-up release, How Do You Do. So, to keep the peoples pumped, Mayer and crew have compiled a 6-song EP of covers from notables, including Chromeo, The Isley Brothers, and others.

Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi

Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - The Rose With A Broken Neck
Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi - Two Against One

Rome is a spaghetti-western influenced, soundtrack-esque collection of themed hymns that are heavy on dream-like melodies and orchestral arrangements, and feature gorgeous, interwoven vocals duties ala Jack White and Norah Jones. It's yet another Danger Mouse collaboration project (teaming up this time with Italian film composer Daniele Luppi) that we've been diggin' on a lot lately, and just like the others (HERE and HERE) its sound is pretty difficult to pigeon-hole into any specific genre that might be attributed to the producer or his crew of accomplices.

Rome is available now. Get it HERE

Hail Mary Mallon

Hail Mary Mallon - Smock
Hail Mary Mallon - Plagues And Bacon

Hail Mary Mallon is the moniker of this Aesop Rock + Rob Sonic (backed by beatsmith DJ Big Wiz) collaboration, and if you're even remotely familiar with any of these avant-garde hip hop gents then you're probably already drooling a bit, huh? Combine the playful, yet oh-so relevant dueling wordplay of Ace Rock and Sonic with some seriously off-the-wall turntable brilliance, and the result - Are You Gonna Eat That? - is an infectious, punch-in-the-gut listen from start to finish.

Want more? Check out the bonus video of Garfield, available after the jump.

Are You Gonna Eat That? will be released on June 7th, courtesy of Rhymesayers

Liquid Jesus MixTape 02:01

LIQUID JESUS - MixTape 02:01

Considering that it's been months since the last Liquid Jesus MixTape surfaced, we figured it was the perfect time to finally throw together a follow-up... whether, of course, anyone out there really cares at all or not. Admittedly, this one is a bit varied and directionless, but I guess it's also a pretty good indication of what we're been listening to a lot lately - and an hour-or-so long sampling, of sorts, of what you might expect to hear us play live (if you ever actually made it out to one of our events, that is). Full tracklist is available after the jump. Enjoy.

Tyler, The Creator

Tyler, The Creator - Tron Cat
Tyler, The Creator - Sandwitches (ft. Hodgy Beats)

Over the past few months there's been enough critical acclaim, over-analytical op-eds, crack-pot theories, praise, condemnation, and just a miscellany of overall annoying bullshit published about Tyler, The Creator and OFWGKTA... enough to fill countless volumes - digital, or otherwise... So rather than add to all of that nonsense by spouting off some kind of useless write-up of our own, we'll actually sit back and shut the fuck up for once, and let the long-awaited Goblin speak for itself.

Goblin is available via XL Recordings

Battles

Battles - Ice Cream (ft. Matias Aguayo)
Battles - My Machines (ft. Gary Numan)

You know what? Gloss Drop is a surprisingly killer Battles release, in spite of last year's much maligned and almost universally fretted-over departure of Tyondai Braxton - but really, who the fuck cares, you know? Off-kilter, herky-jerky-quirky, mostly instrumental insanity, featuring guest vocal spots by Matias Aguayo, Gary Numan, and more... It's sufficiently weird and wonderful, and we're diggin' it a lot, no matter what your dumbass opinion of it might be.

Gloss Drop will be released on June 6th, courtesy of Warp

Mexicans With Guns

Mexicans With Guns - Highway To Hell (ft. Freddie Gibbs)
Mexicans With Guns - Got Me Fucked Up (ft. Nocando)

The combination of dubstep, hip hop and utterly over-the-top glitchy goodness found on masked producer Mexicans With Guns' new full-length is dark and delicious enough on its own, but the moments when Ceremony absolutely shines is when its coupled with some real tasty spots by guest collaborators Freddie Gibbs, Chico Mann, Nocando and more. Either way, it's a solid, heavy-hitter of a release that boasts some frighteningly scathing and highly original beats - all quite perfect for you to bob your lil' head to.

Ceremony will be released on May 10th, courtesy of Innovative Leisure

13 & God

13 & God - Death Major
13 & God - Old Age

The unlikely collaboration project of German indie-pop act The Notwist and weirdo California hip-hop duo Themselves caused quite a stir amongst both of their then-inclusive communities of followers when they released their eponymous full-length debut back in '05. I imagine the follow-up album, Own Your Ghost, might shake a few things up as well, especially with anyone not already in the know. Take the beautiful and often quirky textual coupling of The Notwist's sublime, electronic synth-induced sound and the rapid-fire lyrical bombardment of Themselves' Doseone, and the result is strange and unsettling and wonderful in ways we can't even begin to describe... Look - we've been waiting for this one to drop for quite awhile, and goddamnit are we ever so satisfied with the results.

Own Your Ghost will be released on May 17th, courtesy of Anticon.

Blue Sky Black Death

Blue Sky Black Death - Farewell To The Former World
Blue Sky Black Death - Fire For Light

More gorgeous, full-bodied, atmospheric beats from this instrumental hip-hop producer duo - and pretty swell (read: appropriately pleasing) cover art, to boot... We already spent a little time talking up Blue Sky Black Death (HERE) when they impressed us with Third Party last summer, and now that they've quickly released a killer follow-up, Noir, I guess it's about time to do it again.

Noir is available courtesy of Fake Four, Inc.

Explosions In The Sky

Explosions In The Sky - Trembling Hands

Sit back with an ice-cold bevie and enjoy the grandiose, orchestral-like highs and lows of instrumental maestros Explosions In The Sky. It's been, what - four long years since their last release? - but Take Care, Take Care, Take Care is well worth the wait and it's equally beautiful and surprisingly unsettling with the band's patented lulls and emotional build-ups, and crashing-down-all-around-you symphonic brilliance.

Take Care, Take Care, Take Care is available via Temporary Residence Ltd.

Classified

Classified - Desensitized
Classified - The Hangover *

We might have met our soulmate! Peep these lyrics:

"I rock every show like this could be the last Class... act
and it’s hard to party without drinkin’,
give me just one,
but I ain’t a social drinker, when I start I usually get drunk
Guess I’m goin’ all night, continuin’ the trend
Then I’ll wake up next morning and I’ll do it all again
This hangover is settin’ in, and...
I don’t wanna deal with the hangover"
